How Our Estimate Process Works
You bring us your vehicle, or describe the symptoms over the phone, and we start with a proper diagnosis. We don't guess at causes or quote prices on hypothetical repairs. Once we know what's actually wrong, we write up a detailed estimate that includes parts, labor, and any related items we recommend. You decide what to authorize. Nothing gets done without your sign-off.
What's in a Perry's Estimate
- Itemized parts list, brand and grade specified
- Labor breakdown, by job, not vague hourly totals
- Related items, separated from the primary repair so you can decide
- Recommended vs. required work, clearly labeled
- Total out-the-door cost, including taxes and shop supplies
- 2-Year / 24,000-Mile warranty, included on all repairs
Diagnostic Fee Policy
Some issues are obvious (a dead battery, a worn brake pad). Others require diagnostic time, hooking up scan tools, running tests, isolating the failure. For diagnostics, we charge a flat fee that's competitive with other Simi Valley shops. If you authorize the repair, we apply the diagnostic fee toward your final bill.
Phone Estimates vs. In-Shop Estimates
For straightforward services like oil changes, scheduled maintenance, or specific replacement parts (alternator, water pump, etc.), we can usually give you a ballpark over the phone based on your year, make, model, and engine. For drivability problems, noises, or check engine lights, we need to see the vehicle. Anyone who quotes you a firm price for a "knocking sound" without looking at the car is making it up.
